Thank you, Wheat-free Dave, for bringing these from HK for me ... om nom nom ...

Moleskine Animation

This is so clever - sorry I can't embed it ... click here.

Bored with soup now ...

I'm hanging on to my front tooth (that would be top (a) on the diagram above) for dear life ... it's a long and boring story, but let's just say blow-up dinghy + kids = £££ to the dentist ... 4 years later, and counting ....

Icons of the Web

Picture
A nerdy day, reading other people's quilting blogs (well, looking at the pictures) and tidying up my presence on this here interweb.

Found this at http://nmap.org/favicon/ The image above is just a screen grab -
It's an interactive image showing the proportional web presence of different icons - you need to experience it in all its zoomable, searchable magnificence at their website.    They describe it much better too:

"The area of each icon is proportional to the sum of the reach of all sites using that icon. When both a bare domain name and its "www." counterpart used the same icon, only one of them was counted. The smallest icons those corresponding to sites with approximately 0.0001% reach--are scaled to 16x16 pixels.
The largest icon (Google) is 11,936 x 11,936 pixels, and the whole diagram is 37,440 x 37,440."
yeah, well, maybe I'm obsessed, but it looks like another patchwork quilt to me ....

late summer, late afternoon, a stroll in Pavilion Gardens

So, looks like autumn's jamming her toe in the door ... gardens full of fecund papery pods - and a dozing ladybird (well, it wasn't moving much).

snow in brighton? ... neeaagh ... just going through old photos ...

Working on this website has led to the rediscovery of a ton of pictures ... so here are some chilly memories from January this year.  I loved the quiet cornflour crunch of snow under foot.  That is, until I got to the top of my very steep hill, when retreat to the safety of tea and toast seemed much the best option ...
